LIFE-AR will co-host a session with the Huairou Commission and SouthSouthNorth on the issue of accountability and the roles of government and civil society in implementing LLA. The session will explore the systemic changes needed to institutionalise LLA, working in business unusual ways. The focus will be on the coordination of different actors and how to ensure all voices are heard and included in the decision-making.
More specifically, this interactive and innovative discussion will aim to explore with participants and design concrete strategies, tools, and real-world models for embedding Locally Led Adaptation (LLA) into government systems and climate finance mechanisms in ways that promote social inclusion, downward accountability, and community empowerment - especially for groups who usually don’t have a voice and grassroots women’s organizations.
Specific objectives for the session are:
Tuesday May 13th, from 10:30 t0 12 pm
The LIFE-AR team will be hosting a stall at the CBA marketplace, in the main lobby of the conference venue. This will be an opportunity to meet with other participating organisations and discuss LIFE-AR in more details, sharing learning and experience to learn from each other. And to deepen or build new relationships!
12:00 to 1:30 pm, Tuesday 13 and Thursday 15
