This will be a high-level event showcasing Front Runner Country progress and implementation as well as remarks and renewed engagement from partners.
This event seeks to highlight the various financial mechanisms that enable locally led adaptation (LLA) providing an opportunity to hear directly from those who have instigated, developed and are implementing different mechanisms for channelling finance to the local level to deliver community-led priorities.
This event will launch the C&DM’s landscape mapping exercise, which systematically catalogues ongoing adaptation finance initiatives and analyses their focus areas, objectives, and geographical scope. The mapping exercise will identify overlaps, gaps, and potential new partners or initiatives within the adaptation finance landscape.
A LIFE-AR and UNIDO collaboration event that will focus on LDC leadership and the role for intermediaries in delivering climate action, profiling the new LDC Secretariat and LIFE-AR Secretariat as LDC owned intermediaries.
A high level panel event IMF cop29 where the panellists will discuss how to enhance partnerships and cooperation to scale up adaptation financing for these countries and explore the role of various stakeholders—including public institutions, private sector, and civil society—in attracting private capital for adaptation investments.
This event will share experiences and explore innovative climate-informed financing mechanisms that effectively align global climate finance flows with local adaptation needs, enhancing resilience and sustainable development in Africa. Panellists will represent different sectors, ensuring a balanced perspective on finance, science, practice, and governance (policy).
A session to bring diverse perspectives on what decolonising climate finance means and highlighting what a reform of climate finance system with a decolonial perspective would look like in practice.
There will be a LIFE-AR session during the Development & Climate Days session scheduled on 17th November, a dynamic, interactive session with D&C Days participants to share and investigate the learnings from LIFE-AR's establishment phase, with personal interventions from LIFE-AR Focal points and alternates.
